CU SOFTBALL FIELD |
The Cumberland Softball Field has been transformed over the last five years into one of the nicest facilities in the area.
The complex includes a press box and bleacher seating between the dugouts and home plate on both foul lines as well as two sets of bleachers in the outfield. A new centerfield wall and batter’s eye was added before the 2012 season along with a host of improvements along the third base side of the field.
A clubhouse was built before the 2012 campaign that includes a pair of coaches offices, locker room for the players that connects to the third base dugout, restrooms and shower for the players and a laundry room. The players’ lounge features a big-screen television along with couches and chairs for the players along with wireless internet.
A new tarp was purchased before the 2013 season and an area beyond the centerfield fence was rearranged before that campaign as well, providing a place for hitting drills as well as three pitching areas for players and opponents. The first-ever irrigation system was added to the facility during Fall 2013, which includes sprinklers for both the infield and outfield.
The softball program also has use of an indoor hitting facility located at Nokes-Lasater Field, which includes two hitting tunnels, a place for pitching and also station work for hitting.
